Legal Update: Court Grants Tribe Motion to Intervene

At a hearing yesterday (Wednesday, June 1), Judge Young ruled that the case brought forward by the Littlefields will remain in Massachusetts courts and rejected the effort to keep the case in his courtroom. A different yet-to-be-determined judge will hear the case. This is the second time the court has rejected the Littlefields’ efforts to keep the case in Judge Young’s courtroom.

In his final ruling of the day, Judge Young ruled in favor of the Tribe’s motion to intervene. The Tribe is now formally a party to the case and will be able to speak for itself going forward.

The Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe Gaming Authority and Tribal Council are committed to sharing news with the tribal community as it happens.
