Disaster Recovery Services Available to Lumbee Tribal Members Beginning March 11

PEMBROKE, N.C. — The Lumbee Tribe of North Carolina will be offering disaster recovery services to tribal members who have been affected by natural disasters. This program will assist with necessary repairs to ensure safe and sanitary homes for tribal members. Applications for this program will begin on Monday, March 11, 2019.

Applicants must meet all eligibility requirements to qualify for the assistance provided by the program. Eligibility Requirements includes:

– Must be an actively enrolled member of the Lumbee Tribe of NC
– Must reside in the tribal service area: Robeson, Scotland, Hoke, and Cumberland
– Must meet income guidelines
– Must be primary residence
– Members who have received prior assistance from the Lumbee Tribe of NC are still eligible for disaster services
– If an applicant has received any assistance from any other disaster recovery programs or organization due to natural disasters, applicant must bring in the documentation.

The Disaster Recovery Service Program will operate under the Lumbee Tribe’s Housing Department. Applications must be completed at the Lumbee Tribal Housing Complex located at 6984 NC Hwy 711 West, Pembroke NC. Applications will be accepted between the hours of 8:00am and 4:30pm.
