WASHINGTON — After a long 14-hour debate on the articles of impeachment against Donald J. Trump, the 45th president of the United States, the House Judiciary Committee abruptly after 11 p.m. postponed a final vote until Friday morning. The Committee will reconvene at 10:00 a.m. to vote.

The House Judiciary Committee vote was widely expected on Thursday evening, but Chairman Jerry Nadler abruptly gaveled to the Committee to recess until Friday morning. Nadler allowed members go back and forth voicing their opinions on the impeachment. The Republicans threw insult after insult at the Democrats on the Committee claiming there is not enough evidence to impeach the president.

The vote is expected to be down party lines with the House Judiciary Committee advancing the articles of impeachment to the full House of Representatives which will vote before Congress recessess for the Christmas holidays next Friday, December 21.
