Spirit Mountain Community Fund Awards $670K to 27 Non-profit Organizations in Northwest Oregon

GRAND RONDE, Ore.  — The Spirit Mountain Community Fund (SMCF) awarded $670,000 to 27 non-profit organizations in Benton, Clackamas, Lane, Linn, Marion, Multnomah, Polk, Tillamook and Washington counties during a quarterly check presentation in Grand Ronde on December 12, 2018.

Among the non-profits to receive grants for the Spirit Mountain Community Fund this quarter were:

* Benton County: Alsea Valley Gleaners – $6,500

* Clackamas County: Child Advocates, Inc. – $41,500; Children’s Center – $25,000

* Lane County: Center For Community Counseling – $12,500; A Family For Every Child – $50,000; Oregon 4-H Foundation – $42,000; Junction City Local Aid – $6,000; Little Hands Can – $4,000; Parent Partnership – $5,000; Science Factory, Inc. – $6,500

* Linn County: Boys & Girls Club Of Albany – $20,000

* Marion County: Boys & Girls Club Of Salem Marion & Polk Counties, Inc. – $42,000; Paradise of Samoa – $4,600

* Multnomah County: Call to Safety – $20,000; Children’s Cancer Association – $30,000; Immigrant and Refugee Community Organization – $75,000; Make-A-Wish Foundation of Oregon, Inc. – $35,000; Native American Youth Association – $50,000; Portland Taiko – $25,000; Schoolhouse Supplies, Inc. – $20,000; Boom Arts, Inc. – $7,400; Oregon Bravo Youth Orchestras – $5,000; Portland Backpack – $5,000

* Polk County: City of Dallas Fire Department – $25,000

* Tillamook County: Tillamook County Women’s Resource Center – $30,000

* Washington County: Kinship House – $35,000; YWCA of Greater Portland – $42,000

The Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde is committed to honoring the tribal traditions of sharing and giving back to the community. In 1997, in an effort to uphold these traditions, the tribe formed the Spirit Mountain Community Fund, dedicating 6% of all casino revenue to non-profit organizations in an 11-county area of northwest Oregon. Grants are awarded in the following categories: arts & culture, education, environmental protection, health, historical preservation, problem gaming and public safety. Since inception, the Community Fund awarded 2,666 grants to non-profit organizations in NW Oregon totaling $79,280,930.
