Santuit Pond Cyanobacteria Advisory Notice

Unfortunately, we are once again posting a notice that the quality of the water in our ancestral homeland is not well. The town of Mashpee released a scum layer advisory for Santuit Pond as of 10/27/2022. Cyanobacteria cell counts are still below threshold. The Department of Natural Resources and the Board of Health will keep a close eye on cell counts and will update the advisory if needed.

“Public Health Advisory” posters have been posted at public access points around Santuit Pond. Please refrain from swimming in the water, swallowing the water, and allowing pets to enter the pond. Rinse off after any contact with water. Please contact the Board of Health (508) 539-1426 or Department of Natural Resources (508) 539-1410 with any questions.
