WASHINGTON — Rep. Sharice Davids (KS-03) has been named to the House Small Business Committee. The House Small Business Committee is responsible for overseeing the challenges facing small businesses and serves as the primary venue for overseeing the SBA and handling small business policy matters.

“Entrepreneurship is baked into the DNA of the Kansas Third District and I appreciate the opportunity to bring that voice and vision to the Small Business Committee,” Davids said. “I look forward to supporting our small businesses and helping make sure they have the tools they need to take care of their employees, grow their companies, and contribute to our economy.”

Davids aims to work on supporting small businesses through increasing access to capital, advocating for fair taxation, and reducing hurdles to success.

Davids has already begun highlighting Third District businesses through “Sharice’s Shift,” – an ongoing outreach program designed to connect with local workers and businesses.

In addition to the Small Business Committee, Rep. Davids will also serve on the Transportation & Infrastructure Committee. Her subcommittee assignments on that committee are: Highways and Transit, Economic Development, and Aviation.
