Welcome to Summer Law Clerk Nick Cross
At NARF, we are dedicated to supporting the next generation of Indian law lawyers, and one way we do this is through our Law Clerk Program. Today, we’re featuring Nick Cross, a law clerk in our Washington, DC, office this summer.
Nick is from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and is a rising third-year law student and a Public Interest/Public Service Scholar at American University Washington College of Law, where he serves as an executive board member of the Equal Justice Foundation. Nick externed for NARF during his second year of law school, spring semester, and continues his work with NARF this summer through a stipend paid for by funds he helped raise through Equal Justice Foundation.
Nick is dedicated to bolstering the sovereignty and self-determination of indigenous peoples and to attaining social, economic, racial, and environmental justice for all people. Last summer, Nick clerked for an eviction defense nonprofit law firm. Prior to entering law school, Nick worked in urban elementary schools in Boston with the nonprofit Playworks. After graduation, Nick’s goal is to assist indigenous people fighting on the front lines of climate catastrophe resistance.
After work, Nick loves to play chess in the park near NARF’s DC office.
