Johnson & Johnson

  • Single dose vaccination

  • Viral Vector /Adenovirus (uses a weakened Live pathogen /Virus)

  • It uses a small piece of genetic material from the virus to trigger an immune response. This genetic material for Covid-19 does not replicate in the body. A specific piece of the virus can be targeted and are safe –even for those with chronic health problems or immunocompromised.

  • May require booster shots over time

  • 66% Effective

  • Less prone to trigger side effects that require monitoring after injection

Moderna

  • Two Dose Vaccination (injections 28 days apart

  • MRNA/ not a live vaccine: described as instructions for the cells to make a piece of a “spike protein” which is unique to Covid -19. After this partial spike protein is made, the cell breaks down the mRNA strand and disposes of it using enzymes in the cell. Once displayed on the cell surface, the spike protein causes the immune system to begin producing anti-bodies which means the immune system is primed to protect against future infection.

  • Require monitoring for 15-30 minutes following injection

The Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe Emergency Management Department (MWT EMD) in collaboration with the Mashpee Health Service Unit (IHS) are conducting a Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe Covid-19 Vaccine Survey.  This information will be utilized to enhance future informational updates and education on the vaccination process for the Tribe.

All Tribal Members over the age of 18 years of age are highly encouraged to participate and take this brief survey.
