Welcome to Summer Law Clerk Liliana Elliott

An important part of advancing Native American rights and developing Indian law, is developing the next generation of warriors for justice. To this end, for decades, NARF has offered a summer law clerk program to offer law students a unique opportunity to learn about the broad range of federal Indian law and tribal. This highly competitive program has trained hundreds of talented students who have gone to serve Indian Country in a variety of ways.

Today, we introduce, Liliana Elliott! Liliana is a rising third year law student in the Indian Legal Program at the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University, Liliana Elliott has dedicated her legal career to working in Indian Country. Liliana currently serves on the Native American Law Student Association’s Community Service Board and was elected to serve on the Executive Board for the Corporate and Business Law Journal. During law school, Liliana has worked as the Indigenous Justice Legal Intern at the ACLU of Montana, as a Law Clerk in the Arizona Supreme Court Legal Services Division, and as the Diversity Legal Writing Intern at Lewis Roca Rothgerber Christie, LLP in the Tribal Gaming and Regulatory Group. Liliana will be serving in our Washington, D.C. office this summer!

Liliana graduated summa cum laude from the University of Colorado, Boulder with a Bachelor of Arts in History, a Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies, and a certificate in Native American and Indigenous Studies. Throughout her undergraduate career she worked as the Research and Digitization Assistant at the National Indian Law Library. Liliana also worked at the Museum of Boulder and co-founded Inclusipedia, a program that teaches women how to write Wikipedia pages in order to further the representation of women and peoples of color on Wikipedia. Liliana decided to attend law school to further Native American religious, environmental, and land rights, and she looks forward to finding a career in Indian Country after graduating from law school. Outside of school, Liliana loves to bake, hike, and spend time in her garden.
