Welcome to Summer Law Clerk Jens Camp

At NARF, we are dedicated to supporting the next generation of Indian law lawyers. One way we do this is through our Law Clerk Program. Today, we feature Jens Camp, a summer law clerk for our Boulder, CO, office.

In 2016, Jens earned his BS in American Indian Studies from Arizona State University.  Jens also is an alumnus of the Pre-Law Summer Institute, American Indian Law Center, class of 2018.  Currently, he is a rising third-year (3L) law student at the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University (ASU).

Last year, Jens worked as a legal intern at the Gila River Indian Community’s Defense Services Office and as a law clerk at the Office of General Counsel for Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation.  During the 2019-2020 school years, Jens also served as the Director of Public Relations for the ASU Native American Law Student Association chapter.  After Jens graduates, he hopes to continue working in Indian County as an attorney, practicing Water Law, Energy Law, and Natural Resources Law.  Jens hopes to use his law degree to assist tribes in protecting their lands and shifting to cleaner energy sources.

Jens Camp is a descendant of the Ponca Tribe of Oklahoma. His name in Ponca is Oompaska (White Elk).  Jens is also a dual citizen of Denmark, hence the name Jens.  He enjoys going fishing, hiking, and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu when he is not quarantining in his apartment in Phoenix, Arizona.
