Construction in Indian Country Announce Call for Session Proposals

TEMPE, Ariz. ‒ Construction in Indian Country (CIIC) National Conference invites session proposals on all areas of construction practice, research and allied fields. Proposals submitted will be for sessions and workshops offered at this year’s CIIC National Conference. This year’s conference theme, “Trailblazing in the Built Environment,” is looking for session proposals that present INNOVATIVE ideas, projects, practices and technologies that sets itself apart from traditional methodologies or processes. We are also seeking to highlight individuals or organizations whose efforts are on the forefront of “blazing trails” for the betterment of tribal economies and development. Submissions should provide relevant and applicable ideas and solutions for rural areas and/or on tribal lands.

The CIIC National Conference Planning Committee will give special consideration to interactive, skills-building workshops with experienced and knowledgeable presenters. Workshops and presenters must appeal to one or more of the following groups (but not limited to): Tribal Enterprises, Tribal Officials, Tribal Leaders, General Contractors, Subcontractors, Suppliers, Architects, Planners or Engineers.

Approximately 2/3 of the workshops will be determined at the end of July for early marketing, with the final list of workshops determined by August 15, 2019.

Celebrating 16 years of emphasizing methods of achieving sovereignty through planning, design and construction. This year’s conference will be held at Harrah’s Ak-chin Hotel & Casino in Maricopa, Arizona from November 06 – 08, 2019.
