American Indian Graduate Center and REDW partner for Native American Accounting Scholarships

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — REDW LLC, one of the southwest’s largest accounting and business consulting firms, has partnered with the American Indian Graduate Center to implement a scholarship program investing in higher education for Native American students in the field of accounting. Students pursuing their bachelor’s or master’s degree are eligible.

Their commitment to Indian Country has long been noted and we look forward to this program supporting more American Indian and Alaska Native students in the accounting and finance field,” said Angelique Albert, Executive Director of the American Indian Graduate Center.

REDW has operated for more than 60 years in New Mexico and Arizona, and has specialized in providing services to Native American Tribes and tribal enterprises. “We’re thrilled to once again partner with AIGC to help advance the educational ambitions of so many Native Americans seeking higher education,” says Corrine Wilson, REDW Principal and National Tribal Services Leader, also a member of the Ft. McDermitt Paiute-Shoshone Tribe of Nevada. “Establishing this scholarship is important to REDW but has a special meaning to me personally. Through the work we’ve done with tribal governments and their enterprises for more than three decades, we understand first-hand how a scholarship given to someone wanting a career in accounting and finance can benefit not only the individual student, but the entire tribal community.”

The REDW Scholarship will support an identified student for a four-year period. Preference will be given to students attending institutions in Arizona and New Mexico and in accounting degree programs. This opportunity is merit-based and does not require a student to show an unmet financial need. The scholarship provides direct financial support and offers, personally and online, support services that are designed specifically to address the needs of American Indian students in post-secondary education.  Services will include collaboration with institutional resources, community resources, and mentors where appropriate.
